Explore the churches on our island. Many ways to celebrate faith and love.
Christ Memorial Church (Episcopal)
This historic stone church is located in Kilauea on the way to the Light House. This is Suzanne`s church. Beautiful building and grounds, the church is open 8 to 4ish Monday through Friday for drop by visiting. Enjoy the windows that were made in England during World War II and made it to this island without breakage from bombing or transport. Visit our cemetery with family graves still cared for by their local families and old graves of sea captains and plantation mangers adopted by our church members. Services are open to people of all faiths. Great priest filled with the good news, offering an uplifting relevant message at both services. Classic Episcopal service with Holy Eucharist, Rite 1, Sunday at 8 AM accompanied by the organ. The contemporary guitar mass with Holy Eucharist, at 9:30 is Rite 2 and has music from many eras. (I`m partial to this one since I play bass at this service. SK) Both services include Hawaiian hymns. Anytime you come, a small warm church family will welcome you.
